"How do you do that with these other cultures?''

"How do you do that with these other cultures?''

"How do you do that with these other cultures? Surely in Asia they don't talk about emotions. And developing leadership makes no sense at all anyway, they just have to follow. And those Americans only have smooth talk. You don't develop leadership that way, do you?" These are some of the comments and questions I have been asked in recent years.

What connects us is our humanity, which is the same all over the world. Every human being, everywhere, has similar ways dealing with discomfort. It is the circumstances in which we grew up that make us deal with them differently. However, that does not mean that we experience them differently. We all know the butterflies in our stomach, clammy hands, red cheeks, the increased heart rate the moment we experience discomfort. We help teams, leaders and organizations find each other when these circumstances occur in a language other than your native language and when you are from different backgrounds. Working internationally has been a great resource for me personally to further develop my curiosity and self-awareness.

It is with pride and gratitude that I announce that I am co-hosting an online interactive session with one of our participants and ambassadors from Shanghai, Momo Xiong. A session in English for a select group where participants will have the opportunity to ask us both all about developing personal and hierarchical leadership in Chinese/Asian culture. The session will take place on 12 May from 8.00 to 9.30 a.m. CET. You can sign up by sending an email to info@durfteverbinden.nl. There is room for a maximum of 9 participants.
